Volunteers sought for Woodland Boards and Commissions

Friday, March 19, 2021 - 12:00am to Friday, May 7, 2021 - 11:45pm

The City of Woodland welcomes and seeks citizens who are interested and willing to volunteer their time and talent to serve on its boards, commissions or committees.

The city values public involvement in its decision-making process. City boards and commissions are one vital component in bringing new ideas to the City Council and representing the community, according to City Clerk Ana B. Gonzalez.

As part of the recruitment and application process, the public has an opportunity to apply for vacant and expired positions. Appointments are three or four-year terms, Gonzalez continued. All positions are voluntary and appointed by the City Council.  The time commitment for each board or commission varies, with some meeting on a regular schedule, while others meet on an on-call basis.  Once appointed, attendance at regularly scheduled meetings is critical.

The application period started on Friday (March 19th) and runs through May 7, 2021.  The appointment would happen on June 15th at the City Council meeting, with the appointment beginning effective on July 1st.

For those who would like to be considered for an appointment, applications and additional information are available on the City’s website cityofwoodland.org or at City Hall. You can also contact Gonzalez by email at ana.gonzalez [at] cityofwoodland.org or by phone at (530) 661-5806.
