The Cape Gazette reported on Sussex County joining Kent and New Castle county in settling the 2018 school funding lawsuit. As a result, for the first time since 1974, Sussex County announced that it will conduct property assessments.
The League of Women Voters has been interested in the lawsuit and has provided workshops to inform its members and the public on the substance and the outcome. The lawsuit was filed against all three counties in Delaware in an effort to secure more money and better teachers for struggling school districts.
