Important Dates:  

The next election is on May 5, 2026, Tuesday: Primary /Special Election.  Polls open 6:30am and close at 7:30pm

April 6, 2026: Last day to register to vote in May 5th election

April 7, 2026: Early in-person voting begins at the Board of Elections

April 28, 2026: Applications for Absentee ballots must be received by BOE (7 days prior to election)

May 5, 2026: Primary/Special Election Day. Polls open 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

May 5, 2026: Absentee ballots must be received by 7:30pm on Election Day. Although absentee ballots may have been postmarked before May 5, if they have not been delivered to the Board of Elections on Election Day or earlier, they will not be counted. This is a new rule as a result of the passing of Ohio Senate Bill 293 which was signed into law in December 2025 by Gov. DeWine

Note: Voters are now required to show an Ohio or federally-issued photo ID when voting in person. A valid passport is acceptable. If you do not have a state-issued photo ID, you can now get a free state ID from your local Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV.)

Vote 411 is a League sponsored non-partisan site that offers all the information you need to vote.  This site will provide you with the tools to get involved in the democratic process at the local, state and national levels, whether you are interested in registering to vote, checking your registration, voting via Absentee Ballot, finding your polling location, information about candidates or issues, and learning about public policy issues. It even includes what to do if you have trouble voting on election day.
