DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (1981; 2016, name update 2022)

The League of Women Voters of Arlington and Alexandria City supports:

1. Provision by Arlington County and Alexandria City of a comprehensive domestic violence assistance and prevention program that includes shelter, counseling, referral, and community education and accommodates special needs.

2. The use of the Department of Human Services by Arlington County and the Department of Community and Human Services of Alexandria and public agencies dealing with spouse abuse in order to provide effective and efficient use of existing services.

3. Adequate services in Arlington County and Alexandria City for the protection of children reported to be neglected and/or abused. (1968)
