Learn about the exciting Sojourner Truth Project. Women leaders in Akron have teamed up to create a statue of this suffragette who is known for her famous speech, "Ain't I a Woman?" in Akron Ohio. Let's honor our foremothers who fought so hard on our behalf to win the vote.To commemorate this event and the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, a committee of Summit County women are raising funds to commission a statue to honor her. Through this program we will learn about the legacy of Sojourner Truth and how our Leagues can be part of this important tribute to our history. To learn more about this project, click HERE.
