Dr. Kempton, is a nationally renowned expert in offshore wind energy.  He is Professor, College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment, Associate Director of Center for Research on Wind (CReW), Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Technical Advisor to the Special Initiative on Offshore Wind (SIOW), all at the University of Delaware.

Offshore wind technology has leaped forward and the cost of power from offshore wind has dropped dramatically (less than half the cost of 2008).  There is a huge resource of offshore wind which can power our electric needs at cheap prices while creating well-paying jobs.  Learn how Delaware can be part of this new industry!

Willett Kempton, of SIOW, along with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), is poised to release a new study providing information that will jumpstart Delaware’s discussion to initiate an offshore wind-procurement process and bring Delaware back into the offshore wind conversation.
