International Women's Day and Human Rights

March is Women’s History Month, and March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s Day. Among the events organized to recognize women’s accomplishments, both historically and today, was a panel co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of San Diego with the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom on to topic of international women’s and human rights. Our own Kathleen Montgomery, Coast’s Director of International Relations, spoke about the United Nations Core Human Rights Conventions, including the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
