NewsSignature collection has ended for the Promote the Vote 2022 petition and the Reproductive Freedom for All petition. The League of Women Voters of Michigan has turned in all the petitions we gathered to the Michigan Board of Canvassers who will determine if each petition has the required 425,059 valid signatures to be on the November 8 ballot.
Here are some numbers for Promote the Vote:
- Signature turn-in event on video
- 659,972 signatures were turned in
- Nearly 50 LWV-WC members and friends gathered signatures
- 2912 signatures were turned in by LWV of Washtenaw County
- 635 signatures turned in the final week!!
- We accounted for 17% of all League signatures gathered in the state of Michigan
And for the Reproductive Rights for All petition:
- 753,759 signatures were turned in
- This was the most signatures ever submitted for a Michigan ballot initiative
- The proposal will be on the November ballot
This petition drive has been a lot of work and a lot of fun, not to mention a grand undertaking in the midst of everything else that's going on in the League and in our lives. THANK YOU ALL
