Staffing the polls = keeping democracy strong
Help South Carolinians vote and #PowerThePolls! Poll workers are the backbone of every election cycle. As a Poll Worker, you will have a unique opportunity to serve your community, meet your neighbors, and become involved in the electoral process.
- Poll workers (or poll managers) work for the local county boards of election to be part of the county's election administration. Poll managers are assigned to polling locations on Election Day, and work to ensure a fair, safe, and accessible process. Poll workers are needed for primaries and the general election. - Poll monitors assist voters who are having problems voting, and monitor polling locations for potential problems. In South Carolina, the LWV, the ACLU, and others work with the nonpartisan Election Protection coalition.
- Poll watchers are appointed by candidates or political parties to observe Election Day procedures in a precinct. Contact the political party of choice to sign up.
