Help Register Voters on September 20th, National Voter Registration Day!  Click here.  LWV Hudson and LWV Akron will  be at 23 libraries in Summit County.  Each library has 2 time slots, so we need lots of volunteers!  So, feel free to bring a friend.

 Instructions for NVRD Volunteers

  • Familiarize yourself with Vote411.org and https://www.ohiosos.gov/elections/
  • Print this Instruction sheet and bring it with you when volunteering.
  • Bring your own mobile devices – smart phone, tablet, laptop.

To begin your shift: Stop at the check-out or information desk and they will give you a bag of voter registration materials. When done, return all the materials, including the completed Voter Registration forms to the same place.

Set-up Your Table: The table and chairs should already be set up by the library. Tape the NVRD poster to the front of the Table.  Put the following materials on the table:

  • Voting Registration Forms and black or blue pens
  • Absentee Ballot Applications
  • VOTE pamphlet- Sometimes it takes a four letter word
  • Voter Resources card (4”x6”)
  • 2022 General Election Information Handout (2-sided)
  • QR codes sheet

There will be other materials in the bag, e.g., Information Cards from ACLU, Sojourner Truth cards, etc.  Add these to the table if you have room, or just read them over to learn more. You may give them out to interested persons.

Check for wifi.  The library might have wifi you can use.  It will make voter registration faster

If there is a gap between your shift and the next shift: Clean up the materials and return them to the library desk.  If it’s okay with the library, you can leave the informational material –not completed Voter Registration forms--on the table for folks to take.

At the end of your shift, each volunteer should complete the Volunteer Tally Sheet and place it along with the completed Voter Registration forms & Absentee Ballot Applications in the manilla envelope marked BOE.  The LWV Voter Chairs will pick up everything from the library.

If you must cancel last minute,  please call a Voter Chair:

Hudson:   Tracey Mackay at 330 608-5264

Akron:      Kathy Cybulski at   330 760-5238 or Chelsea Grega  330-620-6176

You can also call or text any Chair anytime if you have questions throughout the day.
