The League of Women Voters is sad to announce that one of our longest and loveliest League members, Peggy Huchet, died on Oct. 13, after a long illness with Parkinson’s Disease.
She was a lifetime member of the League, having first joined in 1969. Peggy was an active board member in both Lawrence, New Jersey and in Charleston, SC, where she later relocated to be near her family. She was an advocate for education on both the local and state levels, and worked tirelessly for affordable housing. Peggy is remembered by those who knew her in the League for her graciousness, her smile, and her sharp intelligence. It was a pleasure to serve on a committee with her. A full statement of her accomplishments can be found on her memorial page https://bit.ly/3S61gzM.
Friends are invited to drop in on Sunday, Nov. 6th from 1pm to 4pm to celebrate Peggy’s life. The family requests that you dress joyfully. The reception will be held at 1925 Essex Farm Drive, Charleston, SC, 29414. Memorial fund donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research which can be found on Peggy’s memorial page
