On March 13th, LWVSC sponsored voter registration training in cooperation with State of Delaware Board of Elections (BOE). Volunteers gathered at the Lewes Library to participate in virtual training by the BOE in completing voter registration forms.
Members from both LWV and the Village Improvement Association (VIA) met in preparation for a busy Spring and Summer season. They will be reaching out to communities across Sussex County to encourage residents to register to vote and pledge to vote in the November 5th National election.
The immediate project is to hold voter registration and awareness events in each of the county high schools. LWVSC has been spearheading this successful effort in county high schools and the community college for over 10 years. This summer they will also be staffing voter registration tables at various farmers markets and festivals.
Special thanks to Judy Parkins, Ida Rowe, Joan Flaherty of the Sussex League of Women Voters, Irene Paonessa of the Village Improvement Association, Rebecca Lowe of the Lewes Library, and Rebecca Argo of the Board of Elections for making the training a success.
