The August 5 special election has a lot for voters to consider.  As Rena Basch, Washtenaw Director of Elections says "for an odd-year, August election, these will truly impact a lot of voters!"

Ann Arbor City, the largest Washtenaw County jurisdiction, will be voting on two charter amendments involving the library. Proposal A is to amend the City Charter by authorizing the transfer of City owned property to the Ann Arbor District Library.  Proposal B is to amend the City Charter by repealing Section 1.4, currently titled Center of the City.  

Ypsilanti Township, the second-largest jurisdiction will be voting on four millages (for fire, police, recreation and garbage pickup) and filling a Park Commissioner vacancy

City of Dexter wants authorization to sell some property

Northville Public Schools has proposed a sinking fund millage renewal
