The following work groups need members NOW for various activities:

• Board of Canvassers - observes post-election vote certification process in Oakland County.

• Observer Corps - watches local school board monthly meetings.

• Membership - facilitates new and renewing members' dues payment and records.

Oakland County Board of Canvassers:

The August 2025 primary elections will need certification. Members will observe the process at the Oakland County Service Center for 14 days post-election.

Sign up Genius is available for members to sign up for times ranging from 2 to 4 hours.

LWVOA Observer Corps Revival 2025:

With local school boards the targets of controversy, members are encouraged to watch, in person or via Zoom, monthly meetings of one of the 28 Oakland County School Districts. Issues arising in school district meetings will be discussed at quarterly (every three months) group meetings. Possible actions by LWVOA members may include drafting questions for the Candidate Forums, Action Alerts to legislators, etc.

Guidance, instructions, and selection of the school boards to observe will be provided at an August meeting, date/time TBD.  We hope to have an active Observer Corps in place by the beginning of the school year, September 2025.
