News: April 2024 Primary Board Of Canvassers (BoC)

This was a small primary election. However, for the first time we had early voting in Michigan. Not only was it early voting, many of the early voting sights were consolidated. Therefore all the consolidated sites had to be audited, reviewed, and balanced.

The Party-appointed Canvassers for Oakland county were: 

  • Gloria Spann, Democratic (Chairperson)
  • Barb Pallotta, Republican (Vice-Chairperson) ( first year on this board)
  • Debra Oestreich, Republican Member ( first year on this board)
  • Carlene Yarbrough, Democratic Member

The following members of our League worked various shifts to support the BoC observation:

  • Robert Johncox ( worked several shifts)
  • Patricia Kish
  • Linda Fiscus
  • Maxine Mondshire
  • Jim Treharne

We have a  congressional primary election coming up on August 6 and the big one (the General Election) on November 6, 2024. We will need a greater number of people for both of those elections. Especially the November 6th Presidential Election.
