Just In Time for the Holidays: "Healthy Homes, Healthy Holidays" Program

Ever wonder what happens to those plastic containers you toss in the recycling bin? The answer may shock you. Only about 6% of all plastic waste is ever recycled. The rest is incinerated or goes into landfills and ends up polluting the environment. What can communities do to decrease this waste? The League of Women Voters of the Cooperstown Area (LWVCA) has some ideas, just in time for the upcoming holiday season.

Black Suffragists
News

Often left out of the history of women’s suffrage is the role of black women in that effort. The predominantly black service sorority Delta Sigma Theta’s first public act was to participate in the Women’s Suffrage March of 1913.
