Experts Discuss Teacher Shortage Problems and Solutions

teacher shortage
Wednesday, April 24, 2024 - 7:00pm

Teachers are the most important variable to providing high quality education. Join us on this webinar about how a sufficient supply of teachers in every community and in every field of study, education cannot be equitable or adequate. The teacher supply statewide is increasingly problematic because teachers are leaving the field at record numbers, and fewer people are entering the field. We need solutions that will improve the status of teaching, retain professionalism, strengthen the teacher corps, and that allow schools to better meet the needs of students. Guest experts will join us to break down and discuss solutions to these pressing issues.

Our Presenters:

  • Shanti’ Coaston, Ohio District 11 Teacher of the Year; Computer Science
  • Teacher Union Presidents Melissa Cropper (OFT) and Scott DeMaura (OEA)
  • Dr. Kate Doyle, special education faculty member and program coordinator at the University of Cincinnati
  • Mr. A J Calderone, Superintendent, LaBrae Local School District
