THANK YOU to the candidates who appeared at our virtual Candidates Forum Oct 6! Kudos to Nikki Marchmon-Boykin, LWVAA Board of Directors member, who moderated the Candidates Forum and kept everyone to their time limit. Candidates for the following were all invited to attend the Forum:
- 9th district Court of Appeals
- Common Pleas Court
- Domestic Relations Court
- Summit County Council-at-Large
- Summit County Council District #5
- City of Akron Ward 1 Council
- State Senate 27th District
- State Representative 31st District
- State Representative 33rd District
- State Representative 34th District
- State Board of Education 10th District
- Mayor for City of Twinsburg
- Mayor for City of Hudson
- 13th District Congressional Representative
All candidates on the Nov. 8 Election ballot for Summit County were invited to participate in the Forum. The Candidates Forum was co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Akron Area, and the League of Women Voters of Hudson.
The Candidate Forum was moderated by Nikki Marchmon-Boykin, LWVAA Board of Directors member.
Partners that helped with the Forum included: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; the Akron Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority; Zeta Theta Omega Chapter and the Akron Chapter of NAACP.
