We know having good teachers is the most important thing a school can do to provide our kids with the education they need to succeed. But teachers are leaving the field at record numbers, and fewer people are entering the field. We need solutions that will improve the status of teaching, retain professionalism, strengthen the teacher corps, and that allow schools to better meet the needs of students.  Join us virtually to hear our guest experts discuss solutions to these issues.  (Event presented by LWV Ohio Advocacy Committee.)

Topical Tuesday:  Join Dr. David McClough, Professor of Economics at Ohio Northern University, for a presentation on environmental education 50 years since the publication of The Lorax.   The Lorax is a children’s book written by Dr. Seuss and published in 1971. It chronicles the plight of the environment and the Lorax, the main character, who “speaks for trees” and confronts the Once-ler, a business magnate who causes environmental destruction.  The Lorax expresses Dr. Seuss’s views on climate change and pollution, teaching children how important it is to do our part to protect the environment. He said it was his favorite book.  (Presented in partnership with Way Public Library.)

Topical Tuesday:  Jon Eckel, Perrysburg Township’s Administrator, will discuss what’s happening in the township -- and there is lots going on!  This program will take place at the Township's Fire Station.  Be prepared for an interesting presentation.  (Presented in partnership with Way Public Library.)
