Public Invited to Participate: LWVBG Hosting MLK Day of Service Donation Drive

LWV Bowling Green invites the community to take part in a simple, meaningful act of service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Monday, 01/19/26, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, please stop by Grounds for Thought (a coffee shop in BG) to donate toiletries, women's hygiene products, and baby items to support the Brown Bag Food Project, a local organization in Bowling Green who addresses food insecurity and basic needs in the BG area.  Donations may be dropped off at the large meeting table inside the cafe and will be delivered to the Brown Bag Food Project later that afternoon.

In addition to the donation drive, League volunteers wil be available throughout the day to share voter registration information and civic engagement resources.

26-Minute Film Screening of "Behind-the-Scenes of Elections"

and Panel Discussion with the League of Women Voters

This documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at a politically diverse group of election officials who, despite facing increased threats, harassment and intimidation, remain committed to serving their communities by running secure elections and ensuring every eligible vote is counted accurately. Join the filmmakers and the LWV for a joint screening, panel, and Q&A with election administrators and experts to discuss the future of election administration in the US. The film is 26 minutes long, and will be followed by a 30-minute panel and Q&A session.
