LWV Announces New Initiative to Mobilize Voters

Press Release, dated 04/17/25, from League of Women Voters United States (LWVUS)

Washington, DC — Today, Celina Stewart, CEO of the League of Women Voters, and Dianna Wynn, president of the League of Women Voters, released the following statement:  

“It has now been 87 days since the start of the Trump administration. From the flagrant disregard for congressional authority and governmental checks and balances to defying Supreme Court orders to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back home, one thing is abundantly clear: our country is in a constitutional crisis.

"We [LWVO] wrote a letter to the Ohio Supreme Court in support of their upcoming Women in Law exhibit, featuring the majestic portrait of Maureen O'Connor, the first woman to serve as Cheif Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.  But we think visitors shouldn't have to go to the basement to see representaions of women's leadership, so we shared some additional ideas.
