Delaware County Courthouse

Delaware County Naturalization Ceremony will take place at the Delaware County Courthouse in Media on September 13, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Our League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County has been invited by the presiding Judge to be present at the naturalization ceremony to give each new citizen a packet of information about voting.

The International Relations Study Group of the League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County has been active for years studying different countries meeting monthly on the second Tuesday at 12:30 pm. To generate discussion the group uses the Great Decisions Briefing Book resources put out by the Foreign Policy Association. The topic for March 2024 is Climate Technology and Competition.

A group of volunteers from the Voter Services Committee of the League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County will make presentations on March 2 and March 6, 2024 to Broomall Manor residents and staff. The goal is to help them understand the importance of voting and how elections work—locally, statewide, and federally. Participants will engage in intergenerational conversations and have the opportunity to register to vote as well as to ask questions about their own situations.

Broomall Manor is a skilled care community and the presentations are part of their Life Enrichment activities. Our League of Women Voters members are pleased to share their expertise about the voting process and help residents and staff; Become an Expert Voter.

Voter security and improved voter access are on the minds of all of us as we approach the Primary Election on April 23, 2024. Never again can we stand still and not be prepared for those who might seek to undermine “honest and fair” elections. We need to inform, inspire, and encourage greater participation in the process. Reaching out to the youth populations has become a very important project because they are the future. We want to register more of them and we want to help them become informed voters.
