In July, the LWVCA Natural Resources Committee hosted a discussion with restoration ecologist and environmental educator Rebecca Fanning. She introduced us to Long Branch Creek in West Ashley and explained how past decisions have affected this natural ecosystem, and what could (or should) be done to restore ecological balance. Long Branch Creek is tucked between the suburban neighborhoods of West Ashley. The solutions that she described could be applied to individual lots, or as watershed-wide initiatives that could be replicated almost anywhere in the state!
