Read more about the proposed plan in this August 14 report from The State Newspaper: SC pipeline route surfaces after months of secrecy. Environmental concerns rise.
The Zoom lecture is part 1 of a 2-part program on the proposed utility plant in Canadys and the proposed gas pipeline route through the conserved ACE Basin. The presentation will cover recent energy legislation, the scope and potential impacts of the proposed power plant and pipeline, and the implications for the environment and utility costs in South Carolina.
Part 2: The lecture will be followed on Wednesday, October 8 at 1pm by a guided field trip at Nemours Wildlife Foundation in Yemassee, SC, to experience the ACE Basin firsthand. Spaces are limited. This foundation and site were created by a member of the DuPont family for the purpose of education and research in the conservation of S.C.’s natural resources. The tour will start at 1pm.
It is not necessary to attend the lecture prior to the tour. For more info on the field trip or to reserve a place, please email JudithKramer1 [at] icloud.com. Ticketing for the field trip will be available soon.
