February 14, 2020, is the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment, giving women the right to vote. The League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge plans to celebrate the centennial with regional events this summer and fall, in conjunction with the Suffrage Coalition, a nonprofit group in East Tennessee.

The League of Women Voters has a statewide advocacy group that monitors and advocates for bills of specific interest to the League. This is done through regular meetings of the group and through our state lobbyist.
