The League of Women Voters came in second in the judging for Performance Entries in the 2018 July 4th parade in Montpelier.  A stricking vintage red truck led the way as members waved to the crowds, costumed to recall 1920s suffragettes in white dresses and large hats.  They carried signs reminding us all that Democracy is not a spectator sport, our grandmothers fought to the right to vote, and that we support voting rights and participation.

The Independence Day Parade at the capitol of Montpelier is an annual tradition.  Other participants this year included Senator Bernie Sanders and Governor Phil Scott.
