Barbara McAndrew is a skilled nonprofit leader focused on advancing sustainability and democratic governance, protecting our environment, and tackling economic disparity. As Vice President of Institutional Advancement at the Montpelier-based Institute for Sustainable Commun-ities, Barbara led the development and stewardship of ISC’s relationships to increase funding and advance strategic communications for the organization. She helped shape and drive new business development and served on the leadership team. She has 30 years of experience in project develop-ment, fundraising, strategic planning, board development, and public relations with nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining ISC, Barbara was the development director of the Foundation for a Civil Society in New York. Barbara is a member of the Main Street Alliance Advisory Council. She received her BA from Colgate University with majors in International Relations and French, and is a 2011 graduate of the Vermont Leadership Institute at the Snelling Center for Government. Barbara grew up in Pittsford, NY where her mother was an active member of the LWV. She lives with her family in Calais, Vermont.
Madeline Motta was raised on Cape Cod, the oldest child in a large Portuguese /French Canadian family. In her early twenties she received a Masters degree in community organization from McGill University School of Social Work and organized a Provincial Labor Board for women from developing nations recruited by the government to work as domestics in Canada. Later on she worked in Stategovernment as a Senior Policy Analyst in Massachusetts and Vermont.
When her mother was diagnosed with ALS, she returned to Massachusetts to care for her, and later graduated from law school in Boston and worked at the Office of the Attorney General in Anti-Trust and the Massachusetts Licensing Board of Medicine.
In 2005, Madeline’s infant son Gabriel came into her life while she was writing her doctoral law dissertation on Fiduciary Obligation legal theory; she graduated in 2010 with a Doctor Civilis Legis (DCL) from the McGill Faculty of Law. For several years, she worked for the Federal Government in Ottawa, in the legal policy division of the Public Safety Agency of Canada.
Madeline is the CEO of Integritas Consulting, a government and corporate ethics compliance consulting service assisting Government and academic research universities in Canada and the US with establishing ethics compliance programs. She represents the League of Women Voters of Vermont on the Campaign Finance Education and Reform Committee, a public forum initiated by the Secretary of State and the Attorney General.
Madeline lives with her son Gabriel in Stowe.
