With the Vermont Legislature in session, this is a busy and productive time for our League. We have been actively advocating for our positions. (https://my.lwv.org/vermont/legislativesession-2018)
We also visited the State House, sponsoring a coffee, and met with with legislators on our annual Legislative Day in mid February, and met with the Governor a week later.
It was great to see so many of you in March at our annual Spring Lecture and Luncheon, on the topic of Integrity in Journalism.
We were there for sensible gun regulation at March for Our Lives in Montpelier and in St. Johnsbury. (Although personally my high-school-aged daughter and I arrived very late and never found the League banner in the large enthusiastic crowd, though people near us had seen it.)
Upcoming, we're invited to table again at the Youth Rally in Montpelier on April 12, consider doing that with us!
Applications to our Winona Smith Scholarship for high school seniors are coming in, and the Ed Fund board will announce the winner in May.
I hope to see some of you at our New England Leadership Conference in Maine, this is my first time to attend. And Vermont is sending a healthy delegation to the League's National Convention in Chicago in June, where we will also be a strong contingent in the Healthcare Caucus.
