Meeting about Restoration of Voting Rights of Citizens with Past Felony Convictions
We will review actions and strategies of what other advocacy groups are working on for 2019 and collaborate a plan for how we can assist them in their campaigns. We'll also discuss what proposed changes have been introduced into the Virginia Legislature.

In November, Florida voted to restore the voting rights of citizens with former felony convictions. Virginia is now one of three states which permanently disenfranchises citizens with past felony convictions, but grants the state’s governor the authority to restore voting rights. These laws, deeply rooted in our troubled racial history, have a disproportionate impact on minorities.
