It’s understandable why. The campaign to allow women to vote doesn’t fit neatly into the official story that Virginia’s politicized textbook committee wanted to tell. Here’s another teaser: It doesn’t fit neatly into the story that a lot of people would prefer to tell today. History is messy, and this part of history is no exception." The Roanoke Times.

Reaching a consensus on Affordable Housing -- the proposed new LWV-VA Position

When The New York Times (April7,2018) published information from the Eviction Lab at Princeton University, Virginia had five of the top 10 city eviction rates in the nation. They were Richmond, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, and Chesapeake.
A statewide LWV committee has studied the crisis in Virginia in affordable housing and related issues of poverty and wages.
