Jim Stewart

The League of Women Voters is proud to present the first ever Making Democracy Work Award to Jim Stewart. 

Jim promoted democracy through his visionary work in developing the Whitewater Banner website, through his service on the Whitewater Common Council, and through his services on the Whitewater School board from 1981 to 2002. 

Like the League, the Whitewater Banner is a grassroots effort and facilitates social interation. Through this site, Jim created a community bulletin board and keeps all citizens informed about everything Whitewater.
