The Whitewater Area League board was honored to have Maria Douglas, LWVWI DEI Senior Specialist, attend their November 5 board meeting for an in-person DEI onboarding presentation.

Maria was hired by LWVWI in April of 2022 to grow and develop the DEI Committees of local Leagues, implement the state League’s DEI Action Plan, help train and spark interest in the various facets of DEI, track the decentralization of DEI in local Leagues through the annual DEI and Demographic Surveys, and to help ensure that all aspects of LWVWI work are being conducted through a DEI lens.
