Thank you to everyone who participated in the League's newly formed book club. More than a dozen individuals attended at least one of our 3 meetings in March and April to discuss Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson.
Our next book discussion on White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo will be led by Dwight Watson. Books may be obtained through the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library or the Book Teller (262-269-9109). More information including a specific time and place in June will be in the next newsletter and publicized on our Facebook page and website.
Please contact Deb Gamble (262-458-0077 or shebagam [at] gmail.com) with questions or to sign up for the discussion.
The LWV Book Club was formed to help our Whitewater members and friends explore the League's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policy through meaningful discussions of current notable books dealing with public policy issues of interest to the League. You do not need to be a member of the League to participate.
