The League is holding an informative membership meeting on Saturday, January 18th, 10AM-noon, in Fellowship Hall in Fairhaven. The informal gathering offers an opportunity for League members to receive updates on League activities as we launch 2020 Centennial celebrations and prepare for 2020 elections. We also want to hear from you! Please bring your questions, concerns, programming suggestions, and ideas on how the League can better serve the Whitewater Area community and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the League and the 19th Amendment! It’s also a great opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow League members (we have several new members you may not have met!), enjoy their company and engage with one another over coffee, tea and light morning refreshments.

Plans for voter registration assistance training and the scheduling of voter registration assistance events leading up to the April Spring Election will be shared. You’ll want to be present to learn how you can involve yourself in voter registration activities this year. Information on two possible candidate forums in March will be presented and given careful consideration as none of the local races for Common Council or Whitewater Unified School District school board seats are contested. The League is undergoing a significant upgrade to its website platform and will be a first-time participant in VOTE411.org, an online service for candidate information. You’ll learn how these two new projects will benefit voters and enhance the League’s outreach. And, an update on the upcoming League 100th birthday Centennial Tea planned for February 15th will be provided. Plus much more!

Our local League an informed group of concerned citizens wanting to make a difference in the Whitewater Area community by educating and empowering all eligible voters. This year we’re also celebrating our history and reminding our fellow citizens of the importance of the passage of the 19th Amendment and the struggle it took to manifest that milestone. Above all, this Saturday’s
membership meeting is an opportunity for us to inspire one another as we begin the League’s work in a challenging and celebratory year.
