Communication Technique Presentation

Our sister League in Diablo Valley, in partneship with the Berkeley/Oakland/San Francisco Braver Angels Alliance, will present an online program about the power of appreciative inquiry, April 28, 4-6 p.m.

Polarization in conversations about political differences is widespread today. In this presentation, participants will learn conversation techniques focused on finding strengths and positive outcomes. These techniques can help you more effectively advocate your ideas and understand others’ views better.

Presenter Dan Clurman is a communications coach and trainer. He’s on the faculty in the School of Business at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He teaches courses in team dynamics, conflict resolution and coaching, emphasizing the interplay of critical thinking and communication.  He is the co-author (with Mudita Nisker) of "Let’s Talk: An Essential Guide to Skillful Communication." It's Rumor Season!

League members can attend LWVUS Weekly Election Rumors Briefings on Mondays at 12:30 pm (PT) that cover growing national and local trends in mis-and-disinformation. The briefings highlight pieces of disinformation that have made headlines and how best to track and address it. At the end of the briefing there is time for Q&A.

If you are not on the mailing list for the LWVUS Updates, you can obtain the link to sign up for the briefings by emailing janet [at] lwvdv.org.

AI in Elections Around the World
