The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization.   After comprehensive study and consensus, it supports issues and legislation. Read the LWV positions on national, state and local level. Some key issues on the national level include:

  • Voter Suppression
  • Expanding the Electorate
  • Redistricting
  • Money in Politics
  • Fair Elections
  • Health Care Reform
  • Immigration
  • Global Warming

On the state and national level, League members rely on the Issue specialists following specific bills and legislative activity in Springfield and Washington. When a specialist sees that members should be involved, an action request is sent out as a TFA (Time for Action – also called Action Alert). This is a vital part of being informed and active members of our democracy.

Democracy Drop In

Join us at our Democracy Drop In events, in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn. These gatherings offer members a chance to actively engage with legislators on key issues supported by the League of Women Voters.
