What You Need to Know for the November 5, 2024, General Election

Quick Links: 

Some information such as your Sample Ballot, Polling Places and Early Voting sites won’t be available until closer to the Election. 

How old to I need to be to vote in the November General Election?    18.

You must be at least 18 by November 5, 2024 and be a US citizen to be eligible to register and vote in the November General Election.

Posters with nonpartisan information for the November General Election will be available to download by mid-September! They will be in English and Spanish.

“Vote Anywhere” On Election Day.  DuPage voters have the option to cast their ballot at any of the 260+ polling places, instead of being limited to a voter’s ‘home’ precinct polling place or a single vote center.

Be an Election Judge. Help ensure our election is safe and secure by serving as an Election Judge or in other paid Election Division positions.

First day to request a Vote By Mail ballot

9/26/2024

First day for the DuPage Election Division to mail a ballot to voters who requested one

9/26/2024

First day of in-person voter registration & Early Voting at the DuPage County Fairgrounds and four other sites.

10/20/2024

Last day for voters to register online to vote

10/21/2024

All Early Voting Locations open across DuPage County. 

10/28/2024

Last day for any voter who is a member of the U.S. military services or their families and for any voter residing outside the U.S. to make application for an absentee ballot

10/31/2024

Last day for the Election Division to receive a Vote By Mail ballot application by mail 

11/4/2024

Last day for early voting

11/5/2024

Election Day:  In-person voter registration & voting.  Polls are open 6am – 7pm
