Our speakers will begin at 12:30 pm. Guest Speakers: Kathy McKenzie & Glenn Church, authors of "Humbled: How California's Monterey Bay Escaped Industrial Ruin," will explain some of the back story behind the plan to industrialize Moss Landing, based on their book detailing the proposal in 1965 by Humble Oil Company to build a 50,000-barrel-a-day refinery, and the prolonged effort by activists, farmers and local politicians to turn the project aside.  For more information, see the May 2021 Voter.
