Presentations on Human Rights and the United Nations

by: Kathleen Montgomery

The Human Rights Special Interest Group* invites requests from community groups for one of our virtual presentations.

  • "Inspirational Works of Art at the United Nations showcases two dozen works of art on display at UN headquarters in New York City.

  • "United Nations Core Human Rights Conventions introduces the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, followed by information about subsequent conventions and treaties, including those that address rights of vulnerable persons.

  • "United Nations Sustainable Development Goals reviews the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which constitute the UN’s Agenda 2030 — the blueprint for a prosperous, peaceful, and sustainable planet.   We review the targets for each goal, designed to transform our world into a place where no one is left behind.

The first of these slide shows was presented at the annual meeting of the League of Women Voters of Orange Coast in June.  Look for an announcement about upcoming showings of the second and third presentations at a Coast event.
