Assault Rifles - What can be done?

In response to the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, the League of Women Voters of Texas, LULAC Texas, and the Texas NAACP are coming together to co-hosting a webinar with the Texas LULAC and the NAACP Texas State Conference on July 13th, 2022 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. CST.

Panelists include: 
  • Art Acevedo, former Chief of Police for Austin, TX, Houston, TX, and Miami, FL.;
  • Dr. Roy A. Guerrero, Pediatrician  Uvalde Memorial Hospital;
  • Dr. Jeff Temple, Phd, Founding Director of the Center for Violence Prevention at the University of Texas Medical Branch;
  • Dr. Sandra McKay, MD, FAA.  Associate professor of pediatrics with McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and nonresident fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy.

Moderator: Gene Preuss, PhD, University of Houston history professor.
