Candidates: | District 3 - Xochitl Rodriguez Murillo and Mary Sandy | |
|
The Board of Supervisors forum scheduled for January 31 was originally planned for District 3 and 5. However, candidate Paul Bridge notified the League that he would not be able to speak at the forum due to other responsibilities, so we will not be able to include District 5. The League of Women Voters nonpartisan policy does not allow local Leagues to hold forums where only one candidate for a district is represented. Candidates are notified of this policy when they receive the guidelines that govern League candidate forums.

Pros & Cons Presentation on Proposition 1 - January 24
The League of Women Voters members from LWV Woodland and LWV Davis Area presented a Pros & Cons on California Proposition 1, the Behavioral Health Services Program and Bond Measure. This measure is the only state proposition on the March 5, 2024 primary ballot.
The presenters provided background, the proposed measure, fiscal impact, what a yes or no vote will do and what supporters and opponents say. Pros & Cons are solely informational and do not advocate for either position regarding a ballot measure. Presented in terms that are easy to understand, Pros & Cons are intended to provide voters information to help them make decisions about ballot measures.

State of the Community Luncheon – Feb. 13, 2024
This year’s annual State of the Community luncheon featured the Yolo County Community Corrections Partnership (CCP). Speakers representing five of the member agencies in the CCP will each give a brief overview of their role. More information about the Community Corrections Partnership can be found at https://www.yolocounty.org/government/general-government-departments/law-justice/community-corrections-partnership
The League would like to thank the County of Yolo for the use of the beautiful Erwin Meier Administration Building for the luncheon. Our thanks also go to our generous Sponsors, the excellent presenters from the Community Corrections Partnership and to all our guests who attended in support of the work of the Woodland League of Women Voters.
