The League of Women Voters of Sussex County and the Sussex County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will be presenting a compelling film documentary on Mary Church Terrell.  Ms. Terrell was a well-known African American activist who championed racial equality and women’s suffrage in the late 19th and early 20th century.  The film is entitled, "Dignity & Defiance: a Portrait of Mary Church Terrell.

This event is part of the LWVSC celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment.  For more information on Mary Church Terrell, check out the 19th Amendment Celebration Planning committee page.
