Claire Kondig has been active with the League of Women Voters since the early 1970’s. As President from 1975-1977, she was instrumental in involving the News Post in publishing the Voters Guide and in expanding opportunities for Voter Registration. Following her retirement as Principal of Thurmont Middle School, she again became active with the League serving as President and Co-President from 2006 – 2012, during which time the League celebrated its 50th Anniversary in May, 2010.  She currently serves on the Board as Treasurer.
