Centennial Celebration

  • History of the 19th Amendment and what remains to be done
  • Sufragette songs performed by Stephanie Miele
  • A kickoff for our Grove Project.  Come and learn about it.

The League of Women Voters of Falmouth will have a public meeting Sunday September 22nd at the Museums on the Green in Falmouth from 2-3:30 pm to initiate the celebration of the Centennials of the Ratification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution guaranteeing Women the right to vote, and the founding of the League of Women Voters of the United States and of Massachusetts.

Come hear some of the history of these events in the country and in Falmouth, listen to some of the songs of the suffrage movement sung by Stephanie Miele, and enjoy a piece of cake. Further celebration plans will be announced including a Centennial Grove of trees to be planted in 2020, a series of speakers on the movement, a film screening and a parade.
