LWVUS Recommended Program: The Campaign for Making Democracy Work®

The LWVUS Board recommends that Program 2020-2022 continue the campaign for Making Democracy Work® with Leagues working on

  • Redistricting
  • Voting Rights
  • Improving Elections
  • Campaign Finance/Money in Politics

Advocated also is a Proposed Concurrence on Electoral Systems

Position in Brief: Support electoral systems at each level of government that encourage participation, are verifiable and auditable and enhance representation for all voters. (See full position on next page) Voter Representation/ Electoral System Concurrence Position Why? The League of Women Voters currently does not have a position on how we elect our representatives. The purpose of having this position is to provide a clear, but flexible base of principles, for evaluating electoral systems that empower voters.
