In June 2019, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that partisan gerrymandering is a political question because no fair test exists for courts to determine when partisan gerrymandering has gone too far. The LWV is committed to creating fair and transparent, people-powered
redistricting processes and to eliminating partisan and racial gerrymandering in states nationwide. People Powered Fair MapsTM is a national redistricting campaign of the League of Women Voters focused on creating fair political maps nationwide.

Judy Zaunbrecher, co-President of the LWVMA, will be in Falmouth to present a program explaining the Fair Maps plan. This program will be open to the public and will offer a plan that we can all support to end racial and partisan gerrymandering and ensure our political maps are created by the people – not those in power.
