Ever wonder what happens to your ballot after it disappears into the tabulator?  Bridge Michigan, the on-line newsletter of the Center For Michigan has published the answer to your question

Did you worry that your absentee ballot might be rejected because your signature was deemed "wrong"?  Here's what election workers look for when verifying.  And new legislation now requires that election officials must try to contact people with signature problems to give them time to come in and fix it.  Interesting to read that a common source of signature rejection is when someone else signs for the voter - eg when spouses, parents or other relatives sign for a voter who filled out their ballot but forgot to sign on the outside of the envelope.
