LWV Brighton-Howell Unit Public Event

The LWV-AAA, Brighton/Howell Unit and the Howell Carnegie Library will be co-hosting Nicole Matthews-Creech, President of the Livingston Diversity Council, at the April 6th public forum titled Learning From Our Past to Create a Better Future with the Livingston Diversity Council starting at 7 p.m.

Livingston County’s past and identity have been inextricably linked with the KKK, white supremacy rallies and cross burnings. While some may say that we are no longer “that” community, issues of racism, heterosexism, ableism and other types of oppression still exist here, as in many communities. This event will include a live Q & A session after the conversation about the goals, programs and initiatives of the LDC and how the community can support these efforts.

Registration is required through this link to the Howell Carnegie Library
