The first March for Our Lives (MFOL) was a student-led demonstration March 24, 2018 in support of gun control legislation. It took place in Washington, D.C. and there were over 880 sibling events throughout the United States and around the world.
 The event followed the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting a month earlier, which was described by several media outlets as a possible tipping point for gun control legislation. Now we must march again.
 
LWVMichigan supports the following bills for gun reform:
  • Background checks,SB 454,455, 456 and HB 4869, 4870, 4871. 
  • Secure storage of firearms,SB 550, 551, 552, 553 and HB 5066, 5067, 5068, 5069.  
  • Prohibits purchase of guns if convicted of domestic violence,SB 550, 551, 552, 553 and HB 5066, 5067, 5068, 5069.
