September 6 Member Orientation

For all members, new and otherwise who would like to become more involved, we highly encourage you to attend the upcoming orientation. Here you can get an overview of our chapter, and also learn about opportunities for getting involved.

The following are some examples of what we are doing:

-registering voters of all ages around Washtenaw County, at events hosted by the League or with one of our partner organizations

-educating voters on the voting rights laws resulting from Proposal 2, giving presentations by our newly-formed Speakers Bureau

-recruiting poll workers

-hosting presentations for the community on issues such as the Cleanup of the Fox River and Green Bay: Lessons for Michigan, and the Juvenile Justice Taskforce update on October 4th

-forming state-wide and local advocacy groups on such topics as Firearm Safety and Healthcare Reform

- messaging on important topics through social media

All of this work is done by our members, and there is so much more to do!

Our September orientation is:

  • Wednesday, September 6th, from 7:00-8:00 pm on Zoom.

  • To register for the orientation, please click HERE.

We hope you will be able to join us.

Every year is an important one for League work in order to protect and strengthen our democracy.
