This information will be used in our work on voting advocacy and to update our voting information to address voters’ actual experience voting, particularly during the pandemic. We also hope that this information will help to improve the November election process in Connecticut.

Although the Census Bureau updated their schedule August 3 to say the count will now be ending September 30 instead of October 31, Census takers will be in Rhode Island (Providence area) starting August 6.

Criteria for the Marilyn Perkins Scholarship: 

  • Students graduating in the Spring of 2023 from a public high school in Benton or Franklin Counties, WA.
  • Submission of an essay of 500 words or less on what good citizenship means to the applicant or their personal pathway to good citizenship in a democratic society.

2023 winning essays are attached.  Both winning students were from Connell High School.
